The Purdue Club of Sarasota joined the Indiana Suncoast Alumni Chapter to host a PU/IU "Bucket" football watching party. About 30 members from each club attended and brought 96 pounds of food and $2 for the All Faith's Food Bank of Sarasota. Although our football team came up short, the really IMPORTANT Old Oaken Bucket contest was won by a brilliant threesome of Purdue alums who CRUSHED the best the local IU club could offer, 2-1, in the first annual IU/PU trivia half-time challenge. Peter Miller, Paul Goodwin and Rick Thacker, the three leaders in the pre-game contest to select Purdue's best, put their heads together in the final trivia game in a splendid show of teamwork. The prize - a replica of the original Old Oaken Bucket which was made and donated to the two Clubs by master wood craftsman and Purdue Alum, Jack Miller. It was GREAT to see our "undefeated" trivia team add the first ever letter, a "P," on the Bucket chain. Go Boilers!
