Fall/Winter 2007 Dear PCPS Member: If you haven’t been back to West Lafayette recently, you would be surprised at the changes. The new buildings, the construction in progress, and the energy. You can feel the enthusiasm and pride as you walk around our beautiful campus. I was back at Purdue in mid-September to attend the Alumni Leaders Conference on behalf of the Purdue Club of Puget Sound. For the first time in several years, our Club received an award from the Purdue Alumni Association. We participate in the Club Recognition Program which awards three levels of success; Bronze, Silver and Gold. Our Club won the Bronze award by meeting the required number of Critical Factors as outlined by the program. For our Club, this means a $200 award to the Bob & Sarah Bateman Endowed Scholarship Fund and the ability to participate in the Revenue Sharing Fund which helps offset Club operation costs. This is a great win for our Club and I was proud to receive the banner and bronze “P” on behalf of the Club. Goal for next year? Well, Gold of course and we need your help! If you are not already a member of PAA, please consider joining today. Show your loyalty to the University that gave you that great education by supporting the Alumni Association. You can purchase a regular annual membership ($40), joint membership ($45) or life membership ($600/$650 joint). Over 60, life memberships are $300/$335 for joint. Be sure to state in the online form that you were referred by the Purdue Club of Puget Sound in order for this Club to get the points for your PAA membership! www.purduealum.org. (Please note: PAA membership is separate from Club membership dues.) Lastly, PAA unveiled a new look during this conference. After hiring a professional branding company and working with various focus groups, a new brand was established. The PAA logo has changed as did the tagline. The new tagline reads: LOYALTY LIVES HERE. A simple, yet powerful message. You can see the new look on the PAA website and soon on the Club’s website. I wish all of you a wonderful Holiday Season and a New Year filled with health, happiness and hope. I look forward to seeing you at Club events! HAIL PURDUE! Teresa Fay, President
