Get Involved! July 27th, 2007 - Purdue Night at the Seattle Storm 15 members of the Club attended the Storm game to watch Katie Gearlds take on the Indiana Fever! A few Club members were privy to a special audience with Katie after the game concluded. May 5th, 2007 - Purdue Men's and Women's Crew Team Competed in Windermere Cup Race at UW On May 5th Purdue's Club Crew Team was in town to compete in the Windermere Cup Challenge thru Montlake Cut. This was an honor to be invited and the local Club sponsored a pre-game rally, cheering during the event and a dinner afterwards for the athletes. Special thanks to Jen Potter & Bridgett Webb who did the bulk of planning and cooking for the teams. Hats off to Karl & Sue Snepp for generously funding the athlete's dinner. The Boiler men's varsity placed 2nd in the Men's Cup behind the Huskies. The ladies placed 3rd behind the Univ of Waikato (New Zealand) and the UW women who placed 1st. Attendance along the course was estimated at 40,000 which may have been the largest crowd before which a Boiler Crew teams has ever rowed. Congrats to our Crew Teams! April 26th, 2007 - PCPS Annual Dinner Social The Annual Dinner Social was a huge success! We had a super turnout, the venue, Pyramid Alehouse, received great reviews and there were lots of fun raffle prizes & auction items. The biggest surprise of the evening was our special guest and Purdue Women's Basketball standout – Katie Gearlds who is now on the roster with the Seattle Storm. Jeffrey Weitekamp from the Purdue Alumni Association gave us a very interesting and articulate update on all the campus happenings. The raffle & auction netted $826 for the Bob & Sarah Bateman Endowed Scholarship Fund which was matched for a grand total of $1652! Thanks so much to our very generous bidders during the Live Auction portion of the evening. Please click here to view photos from this exciting evening. September 29, 2006 Purdue vs Notre Dame Football - 20 enthusiastic PU alums & 1 Notre Dame alum gathered at 9:00 am to cheer on the Boilers as they took on their long-time football rival. Sidelines prepared breakfast plates forthe hungry crowd and Karen Snepp brought her new I-Pod speaker system to play our school song after each scoring drive. In addition to the ever-popular halftime trivia contest, we signed up 8 new Club members! Welcome to Kristine Henning, Mike & Lynette Weber, Parker Fath, Noah Marner,Yoshio Sugawara, Michael Irmen and Adam Deitemeyer! New members were entered into a drawing for 2 free PAA annual memberships! Winners from that drawing were: Kristine Henning and the Webers! BTW, Purdue one this year's contest 33 - 19 to go 5-0 on the season!! A food drive will take place at each of the remaining football games, so please bring your canned/non-perishable food items! GO BOILERS! December 29, 2006 Purdue vs Maryland Football - Champs Bowl, Orlando, Florida 10 alums, in addition to a current student and her parents, as well as 5 Maryland alums showed up at Sidelines to watch the first game between Purdue and Maryland as they battled in the 3rd annual Champs bowl (formerly known as the Tangerine bowl). Unfortunately Purdue lost 24-7. Lets hope for better luck next year. November 25, 2006 Purdue vs Hawai'i Football A loss in paradise but no doubt a nice trip for the team and the Boiler faithful. Next stop, the Champs Bowl in Orlando. They will play the Maryland Terrapins, see info at http://www.purdue.edu/bowl/ November 18, 2006 Purdue vs Indiana Football Another win over Indiana in the Old Oaken Bucket game. The IU and Purdue fans had fun at Sidelines with over 40 in attendance. Another win on the way to the Champs Bowl in Orlando to be broadcast on ESPN at 5 PM on December 29th, 2006. GO BOILERS!! November 11, 2006 Purdue vs Ilinois Football Another win for our Boilermakers making them bowl eligible this year!! Another good turnout at Sidelines - thanks to all Boiler faithful for attending this year. In other Purdue Sports ...The women's volleyball team has slipped to 16th, but hope to get back on track this weekend when they take on the Michigan teams. The women's soccer team lost in the second round of the Big 10 tournament, but have made it to the NCAA tournament. They will play Marquette this Friday in Milwaukee. Basketball season is just around the corner. November 4, 2006 Purdue vs Michigan State Football 12 alums came out to Sidelines to cheer on the Boilermakers again, and saw a win. Now, Purdue only needs one win (over Illinois or Indiana!) to be eligible for a bowl game. October 2 8, 2006 Purdue vs Penn State Football18 alums came out to Sidelines to cheer on the Boilermakers again, but it was another loss. Purdue still needs two games to be eligible for a bowl game. October 27, 2006 Happy Hour Networking Event 6 people attended this event, which everyone was able to mingle. The group even showed love to a Minnesota alum, who joined the table. Worth mentioning. James Stockard was actually on time. October 21, 2006 Purdue vs Wisconsin Football14 alums came out to Sidelines to cheer on the Boilermakers. Unfortunately we lost, but it was a fun time for all. Thanks to modern technology the alums were treated to the Purdue fight song. October 14, 2006 Purdue vs Iowa Football For the second straight week 22 alums showed up for the game. Even though James still hadn't found his box of goodies, there were still good prizes for the half time trivia! September 30, 2006 Purdue vs Notre Dame Football A whopping 22 alums gathered at Sidelines to help cheer on the THEN 4 -0 Boilermakers. We had many new, young faces in the crowd along withour long-time loyal club members. We were happy to see so muchspirit and such a great turnout despite the rather dismal (could have been worse!)loss to ND. Oh, and we had a great halftime trivia quiz put to us by James, our Social Chair. Winner received 2 movie tickets! September 23, 2006 Purdue vs Minnesota Football12 alums gathered early in the morning at Sidelines Sports Bar to watch the Boilers defeat those Golden Gophers! Indiana No. 17 Purdue finished the regular season 8-3 (6-2 Big Ten). The Boilermakers are Big Ten Conference tri-champions with Michigan and Northwestern. It is the eighth Big Ten championship in Purdue history. The Old Oaken Bucket victory is the Boilermakers' fourth in a row against the Hoosiers and Joe Tiller's fourth without a loss against IU. 'The Texas Connection' got a workout giving Montrell Lowe 38 carries for a career high 208 yards and four touchdowns. All Brees did was complete 20-of-29 passes for 216 yards, run 10 times for 85 yards and got one reception, while becoming the first quarterback to lead the Boilermakers (8-3, 6-2) to Pasadena since Bob Griese. On the Heisman race, Brees is back to looking Rosy. Purdue vs. Michigan
State That's right, wrap it up and throw it away like the smelly old fish you found in your boat for a couple of days after that fishing trip last summer. Purdue played its worst game of the year at the worst time. Headlines read:
