In September, 2000, The Purdue Alumni Club of Portland established a scholarship fund to help offset the tuition of one Oregon or SW Washington undergraduate student attend Purdue University.

General prerequisites for the scholarship are:

• Undergraduate student at Purdue University (incoming freshman or returning student)
• Resident of the State of Oregon or Clark County, Washington
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.

The scholarship process is managed by the Purdue University Division of Financial Aid.  A scholarship is awarded to one individual per year, in the amount of $1000.

The recipient of the 2004-2005 scholarship will be announced at the summer picnic on August 7, 2004.

Make sure to include in your gift that this should be applied to the Purdue Alumni Club of Portland.  If your employer matches gift contributions, be sure to include the appropriate paperwork when sending in your donation.  Contributions are tax deductible within the limits of the Internal Revenue code.   Finally, please make sure to let the Club know that you've made a contribution so we can keep records of the scholarship fund's status.
