Purdue Club of Austin Constitution

 

The following has been adopted by the Purdue Club of Austin as its constitution, with the intent that it will govern the club’s activities in the future.

 

Article One – Name

The name of this organization is the Purdue Club of Austin.

 

Article Two – Purpose

The purpose of the Purdue Club of Austin is to promote the interests of Purdue University and to provide an opportunity to meet other alumni, friends and students of Purdue University.

 

Article Three – Membership

     All graduates of any campus of Purdue University and all persons who have attended Purdue University or had family members attend Purdue University or who have shown vital interest in Purdue University shall be eligible for membership in the Purdue Club of Austin.  Any such person shall become a member upon the payment of dues in the amount established in Article Four of this Constitution.

 

Article Four – Dues

     Annual dues for the Purdue Club of Austin shall be $15 per person or $20 per household, payable via cash or check. The club’s enrollment year will be from February to January. Effective in August of each enrollment year, dues shall be $10 per person and $20 per household.

 

Article Five – Officers and Directors

     The officers shall provide a mechanism by which the general membership of the Purdue Club of Austin can elect officers.

     The Purdue Club of Austin will have 4 offices: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Web master. The Officers of the Purdue Club of Austin shall be responsible for establishing policies, planning events, appointing committee chairmen, and providing assistance to the President as necessary.

     President – The president will preside at all meetings and will serve as the chief executive officer of the Purdue Club of Austin, and shall serve a term of one year.  The President will be succeeded by the Vice President after the one year term. Past presidents will serve as an ad hoc board of directors and volunteer pool for the current officers.

     Vice President – The vice president will serve in the absence of the president and shall be the president-elect of the Purdue Club of Austin and shall serve a term of one year.

     Treasurer – The treasurer will be responsible for handling money, dues, receipts and payment of bills for the Purdue Club of Austin and shall serve a term of one year.

     Webmaster – The web master will manage the club web site and is responsible for posting info on club events, newsletters, pictures, and other relative materials and shall serve a term of one year.

     To be eligible to serve as an officer of the Purdue Club of Austin, a candidate must be a member in good standing of the Purdue Alumni Association and a member of the Purdue Club of Austin.

 

Article Six – Meetings

     Officer meetings shall be held at least twice each year, and at such additional times as the officers deem necessary. One club meeting each year shall be designated as the annual meeting of the election of officers.

 

Article Seven – Amendments

     This constitution may be amended at any time by a majority vote of the officers of the Purdue Club of Austin.
