John Alan Meister, Danville

Sarah Ann Rogers, Stanford

Gregory Arthur Radun, Lexington

Dale Paul Mc Phillips, Crescent Springs

Matthew Thomas Foertsch, Hebron

Central Kentucky is well represented at Purdue by all of our students from this area and it is great to know that 16 of them are recognized by the University for their outstanding academic achievement. As members of the Purdue Alumni Club of Central Kentucky we should be proud of our local students, I know I am. If you know one of these students, be sure to congratulate them on their academic achievement and encourage them to keep up the good work.

PACCK has scholarships available for local area students. If you know of a student who would like to apply for a scholarship, please contact Les Brooks or any director listed below. We look forward to seeing you all at upcoming club events. Until then... Hail Purdue!

PAST PRESIDENT’S Words

Les Brooks

2005 is being an interesting year for me. June 4th marked my 60th year of life and it has caused me to reflect on many of my life’s events. July 9th was a wonderful day as three good high school buddies and I got together to celebrate our 60th birthdays together. Our wonderful wives of 36 to 38 years were also there. One friend ask each of us what we would have changed about our lives. My answer was that I would have taken education more seriously. I grew up in Lafayette, Indiana with an opportunity to attend a better than average high school and than I crossed the river to continue my education at a great university. My goal was to get a degree and get on with life. Forty some years later I now realize I missed essential parts of education. Three out of four at that July 9th party wished they had taken a different approach to education and not for financial gain. That birthday experience explains why I think our annual student picnic is such a meaningful event.
